Electrolysis for Hair Removal
Electrolysis uses a very fine, sterile needle that’s gently inserted into each hair follicle. A small electric current travels down the needle and permanently disables the follicle, stopping hair from growing back. It works on all skin tones and hair colours, even light, grey, or red hair that lasers often miss. Each session treats only one hair at a time, lasting about 15 minutes for small areas like the upper lip, or up to an hour for larger areas. Multiple sessions, typically weekly or every few weeks for up to 12-18 months, are needed to target hairs during their active growth phase. You may feel a quick pinch or warmth, but most find it tolerable, and after a session you can immediately return to normal activities. While it can be time‑consuming and slightly uncomfortable, it’s the only method cleared by the FDA for permanent hair removal.
